Growing company Solid Benefits Great culture Job Details SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our financial procedures and ensure compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting team, preparing financial reports, improving systems and processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. PRIMARY DUTIES: Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Lead and coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement). Ensure all financial records and reports are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP. Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuations. General Ledger Management Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts. Ensure accurate journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Review and approve adjusting entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions. Internal Controls & Compliance Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GAAP, and other relevant financial standards. Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries. Team Leadership & Supervision Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including AP/AR specialists and staff accountants. Set goals and performance standards, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Budgeting & Forecasting Support Collaborate with the finance team to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze trends and financial performance to provide actionable insights. Assist with financial modeling and long-range planning efforts. Systems & Process Improvement Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Evaluate and optimize the use of accounting software and ERP systems. Lead or support finance-related system upgrades or implementations. KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements. Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling). Experience in a fast paced, high volume, multiple company environment. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and/or inventory accounting preferred but not required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Detail oriented with an excellent ability to think critically and analyze data/circumstances Self-managing; works well under little supervision Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated proficiency to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
