All while understanding that together we are even better. /n /n/n /n Schedule: Full-time /n /n/n /n Shift: Days (with shared call requirements) /n /n/n /n Location: AdventHealth Daytona Beach - 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 /n /n/n /n The role you’ll contribute: /n /n/n /n The surgical technologist actively participates in the preparation and management of supply inventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness and clinical/technical assistance as directed while performing operative and invasive procedures. This position requires knowledge of surgical instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemble complex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge of fundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills and dexterity. This position is also responsible to keep abreast of new products, procedures and physician techniques. The surgical technologist supports Surgical, CVOR and GI services to provide an effective and safe patient/staff environment. All activities associated with the role of the surgical technologist are under the direct supervision of the perioperative registered nurse and operating surgeon. /n /n/n /n The value you’ll bring to the team: /n /n/n /n/n /n - Works independently or in collaboration with other staff as directed to ensure required supplies, instruments, positioning devices and equipment is available for all assigned procedures. Utilizes preference cards to effectively assure essential supplies and equipment are available as needed. /n /n - Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills, maintains patient confidentiality and interacts with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous demeanor. Speaks positively to and about co-workers and the organization. Acceptance of constructive criticism. /n /n - Demonstrates flexibility and understanding of assigned work duties. Adapts to changes in assigns duties by prioritizing appropriately. Proactively assists others with minimal supervision. /n /n - Understands the preoperative diagnosis, common complications and operative pathology relating to specific surgical procedures. /n /n - Utilizes surgeon’s preference cards to appropriately execute a plan of care during the surgical procedure. /n /n - Selects and prepares necessary supplies and equipment. /n /n/n /n/n /n *Terms: 24-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation /n /n/n /n Sign-on Eligibility: /n /n/n /n/n /n - Applicable experience required. /n /n - Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible. /n /n/n /n/n /n Relocation Eligibility: /n /n/n /n/n /n - Must live 50 miles outside of campus address. /n /n/n /n/n /n The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: /n /n/n /n Minimum qualifications: /n /n/n /n/n /n - High school graduate or equivalent. /n /n - Successful completion of an accredited school for Surgical Technology /n /n - Current Surgical Technologist certification /n /n - Must be proficient in the English language /n /n/n /n/n /n This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
