Aerojet Rocketdyne's Additive Manufacturing Technology Center, in
Daytona Beach, FL , is looking for an Automation Engineer that is
enthusiastic and excited about Big Data, Industry 4.0 and Metal
Additive Manufacturing. We want to harness that excitement and
focus it into a laser beam to drive Big Data and Industry 4.0 to
new levels. This position will provide you with the opportunity to
hone your skills in a high-tech, fast paced facility. You will be
working alongside a dedicated team of like-minded individuals that
are constantly looking to push Additive technology to its
limits.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
75% - Automation Engineering
Automation Engineering responsibilities include:
Introduce new automation systems and technologies to developing
production lines to optimize work flows
Improve existing systems by integrating new automation
capabilities
Implement and improve data collection capabilities
Design and install systems to integrate with production equipment
to monitor KPIs
Drive the company to rely on systems to foster a culture of data
driven decision making
Collaborate with other sites and departments to share knowledge
throughout the enterprise
25% - Manufacturing/Process Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities include:
Design automation and fixturing as needed
Establish process workflow
Identify Outside Service Providers as needed
Establish non-standard internal processes such as machining,
complex wiring, and finishing
Requirements
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in aerospace,
conventional manufacturing or an equivalent combination of
experience and education
S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials or equivalent
degree. MS Preferred
3-5 years working within a Controls & Automation Engineering role
in manufacturing plants, or similar setting
Experience with Manufacturing 4.0 (SCADA, PLC, sensors, JSON,
Python) and writing queries (SQL)
Exceptional written and oral communication skills to include report
writing, requirements derivation, and documentation, as well as
design review presentations
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at
the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able
to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government
information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from
being able to meet this requirement.
Desired:
Familiarity with industrial networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP,
Modbus/TCP, OPC, MQTT)Experience with metal additive
manufacturing
Experience with additive software Materialise Magics, EOS Print,
NetFabb
Experience with Additive simulation software
Data modeling and ML experience
Programing experience in Python, C++, Go
Working knowledge of Heat Transfer and Thermal Dynamics with a
focus on Additive Manufacturing
Working knowledge of Laser Welding theory, concepts, and or
applications with a focus on Additive Manufacturing
Working knowledge of topological optimization modeling
Active DoD Secret Clearance
