employment opportunity available for a Sr. Principal Mechanical
Engineer located in Apopka, FL. What You’ll Get to Do: The Sr
Principal Mechanical Engineer will contribute to a team designs,
develops, tests, delivers, and operates advanced prototypes and
unique laser systems for military ground, air, and space
applications. Position is for a direct contributor with leadership
responsibilities. Roles & Responsibilities: The candidate shall be
well versed in opto-mechanical engineering design principles and in
technical problem solving. Serve the program as a functional lead
and integration engineer. Support development of a variety of
unique opto-mechanical equipment designed for camera and laser
applications. This involves a broad spectrum of engineering
disciplines so a solid foundation in mechanical engineering
principles, and the design and production process is required to be
successful. Work closely with Chief Engineer and Program Management
to drive the hardware design, working within challenging schedules.
Derive system level requirements into mechanical designs. Drive
continuous process improvements on fielded equipment and procedures
Provide engineering design and analysis guidance Basic
Qualifications: B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or STEM
Degree and 8 years engineering experience, or M.S. in Mechanical
Engineering or STEM Degree and 6 years engineering experience. Must
have 6 years of experience in the design of Optical-Mechanical
systems Must have 8 years of experience with 3D CAD. Must have 6
years of experience with drawing creation and implementation of
ANSI Y14.5M GD&T standards Must have 4 years of experience
leading and mentoring a team of junior mechanical engineers US
Citizenship is required Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret
Clearance. Clearance is not required to start. Must be able to
obtain and maintain this level of clearance for continued
employment. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Creo and/or NX
3D Package Experience with TeamCenter-Product Lifecycle Management
(PLM) or similar Configuration Management applications Experience
with Siemens NX Experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS
preferred) for Structural, Thermal, and/or Computational Fluid
Dynamics Experience with DOD, Military, and/or Space specifications
Experience in Additive Manufacturing (Plastic and Metal)
Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles Experience as a CAM/IPT Lead
supporting the integration of complex laser and optical-mechanical
prototypes Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
