Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a senior executive sales position responsible for developing, managing, and closing business within target large accounts and business verticals to grow our well-established audio-visual (A/V) and custom furniture practice.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the entire sales process in researching, finding, developing, closing, and onboarding high-value new clients that fit our target client personas across the United States.

The role

Mediatech seeks a seasoned, passionate, and dynamic sales professional to grow our professional, white-glove A/V practice. This role is high-profile and key to our aggressive growth plans. The Business Development Manager is responsible for prospecting for new account sales leads, developing selling relationships, achieving sales goals, farming referrals from existing clients, and properly onboarding new clients to ensure the finest possible installations. In this critical role, the Business Development strives to become a trusted A/V advisor and often an extension of our clients' IT teams - providing support, insights, and value that enable those clients to improve their businesses and achieve their strategic goals.

We are competitively unique in the A/V space because we have a separate, custom furniture manufacturing division, American Technical Furniture (ATF). ATF has manufactured custom A/V furniture for over 30 years, providing our BDMs the ability to propose and deliver a complete audio visual _experience_ like no other company in our industry. In fact, some of our competitors purchase custom A/V furniture from us due to our unique capabilities.

An ideal candidate will use professional selling skills to uncover client desires, business goals, facility aesthetics, budgets, and openness to implementing the right solutions. Next, they present solutions that improve employee experience, create compelling collaboration experiences for _their _clients, increase productivity and teamwork, and enhance the client's branding and presentation. Our solutions are high-end. An essential task for the BDM is to qualify prospects early on to determine if they are candidates for superior solutions. We typically decline participating in strictly price-driven bids and selling equipment without the design and implementation components - where we excel in dramatic fashion.

Our BDMs deliver value by making complex A/V solutions simple, customized, and that help clients achieve high ROI from their A/V investments and accomplish their strategic goals.

What you will do

Actively find new prospects through prospecting, outreach, networking, referrals, LinkedIn connections, and events - our best client leads come from our BDMs' proactive outreach
Develop new opportunities through networking, partners, prospecting, in-person meetings, presentations, and events
Work collaboratively with technology and other partners to create ideal client solutions together
Organize and execute a comprehensive quarterly sales plan to effectively contact with target prospects
Educate our clients on current technology capabilities, state-of-the art A/V insights, communication trends, and how to leverage A/V tech to achieve strategic goals
Participate in Mediatech's training and development to become the expert in identifying high-value opportunities, designing custom A/V solutions tailored to prospects' needs, closing business, and coordinating optimal and seamless client installations
Collaborate with talented team members, especially engineering, to develop A/V solutions that move prospects through the sales process and win clients' business
Leverage business acumen and talents to grow Mediatech revenue and build a happy client base that will refer additional business
Remain current on the ever-changing technology landscape of A/V solutions to deliver valuable insights, ergonomic deigns and functionality, and quality support to our clients
Partner with our engineering and client support teams to ensure consistent client communication and service

Essential duties and responsibilities

This is a partial list. Other duties may be assigned as needed

Engage new and existing clients to assess fit, pain points, and desired A/V goals
Consult with clients to understanding their unique needs and develop creative plans to address
Proactively and efficiently manage time and resources with the Mediatech team to ensure delivery of successful outcomes
Establish and manage executive level client relationships
Effectively use technology such as CRM, mobility tools, proprietary design tools, and MS Office
Mange multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously
Manage complex enterprise sales campaigns with multiple prospect engagement points
Align A/V solutions to client business needs, challenges, and requirements
Articulate and evangelize Mediatech's vision and positioning of our company, designs, and strategic solutions
Accurately forecast business on weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences
Ability to work effectively in a multi-threaded environment across multiple client constituents
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation
Effectively assess complex environments and recommend high-value solutions
Agile work style with our sales, support, operations, engineering, and installation teams

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
Previous audio-visual and or technology experience is highly desired
Significant Enterprise sales and strategic customer development experience
Minimum of 10 years successful experience as a direct contributor carrying an individual quota
Sales experience in large corporate sales and track record managing a large prospect list
Creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans
Outstanding executive presence, communication skills, and credibility
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
Skilled at accurate forecasting and articulating complex business conditions and challenges

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
