miles Description: The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist RN (CVIS
RN) performs within the scope of an RN license. They perform a wide
range of technical skills during various Interventional
Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology
procedures. The CVIS RN ensures efficient, comfortable, and safe
examinations for all patients. They are proficient in all aspects
of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation, and
monitoring. This proficiency is consistent with departmental
policies, procedures, and hospital administration standards. An
on-call requirement is part of the role, including participation in
a STEMI program call rotation. The CVIS RN will also participate in
buddy call during the initial orientation period. After
orientation, a minimum of ten call days per month is expected. RTO
is limited to no more than 10 days and requires two additional
weeks added to the assignment. There are no requests for time off
during the first or last week of the assignment. The facility
emphasizes the importance of timely communication regarding
schedule changes for guaranteed hours. Modules related to the role
must be completed prior to the start date and are required for all
staff. The facility reserves the right to modify schedules with up
to 48 hours’ notice. The CVIS RN may work with COVID-positive
patients. Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry is
preferred.
