The community you'll be caring for: 301 MEMORIAL MEDICAL PKWY,
Daytona Beach, 32117 The role you'll contribute: The Respiratory
Therapist III provides routine, emergent, and critical
cardiopulmonary care under the direction of a physician to
neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
This role encompasses responsibility as a Lead Therapist, covering
in a supervisory capacity in the absence of a Lead Therapist, and
may also serve as a charge therapist as required. Adherence to the
Corporate Compliance Plan, as well as the rules and regulations of
all local, state, and federal agencies, and the standards of all
accrediting bodies, is fundamental to this position. The
Respiratory Therapist III actively participates in delivering
outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in
maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. This
position requires the practitioner to work closely with other
members of the healthcare team to provide appropriate, effective
treatment, routinely assess the respiratory status of patients, and
initiate re-evaluation of therapy when indicated. The Respiratory
Therapist III identifies immediate and potential problems and takes
appropriate action, prioritizing to provide the proper response to
patient needs. Serving as an educational resource to other staff
members, patients, and family members is also a key aspect of this
role. Effective communication and thorough documentation are
essential. The Respiratory Therapist III is expected to
continuously improve both individual and group performance,
maintaining high professional standards. Demonstrating sound
judgment regarding observations, findings, and concerns, the
Respiratory Therapist III reports pertinent observations,
interventions, and patient responses to the Registered Nurse and/or
physician. The role serves as a resource for department
practitioners, students, and the interdisciplinary team, using
critical thinking and decision-making skills in the delivery of
quality patient care. Contributions to the achievement of Dashboard
Measurements as well as patient, customer, and employee
satisfaction are critical. Displaying work habits that are
considerate of others, safe, and orderly aligns with the primary
objective of providing exceptional customer service in day-to-day
interactions The value you'll bring to the team: Supervises the
delivery of cardiopulmonary care in accordance with applicable
policy and procedure. Ensures the effectiveness of therapist
assessment and reassessment by monitoring patient progress.
Recommends change in respiratory plan of care according to
documented medical necessity and within the confines of established
protocols. Monitors, instructs and coaches patient before, during
and after treatment delivery. Prevents and/or resolves untoward
side effects. Adjusts therapies according to protocol and
documented clinical criteria. Makes and/or recommends changes based
on pulse oximetry, peak flow measurement, chest x-ray, lab work and
other data relevant to optimal patient progress. Serves as resource
to staff. Trains and instructs cardiopulmonary and other staff.
Helps to supervise student preceptorship program. May serve as BLS,
ACLS, PALS and/or NRP instructor. Maintains a supportive atmosphere
conducive to quality care, department growth, staff development and
high morale. Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation.
Determines or guides the determination of ventilator mode and
settings. Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface a minimum of
every four hours. Responds to alarms and otherwise troubleshoots as
needed. Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates weaning
process. Adjusts ventilator in accordance with patient progress.

qualifications : RRT o CRT Required Associate in Respiratory
