DIVISION OF BLIND SERVICES

LOCATION: DAYTONA BEACH (VOLUSIA COUNTY)

Job Description:

This is a part-time 30-hour per week position located within the Division of Blind Services, working in the Braille and Talking Book Library in Daytona Beach. The position duties will include front desk receptionist duties, greeting and directing individuals who come into the lobby, receiving phone calls from Braille and Talking Book Library patrons, answering their questions, and directing callers to a Library Reader Advisor for further assistance.

Examples of Work:

+ Assist patrons on the phone with questions about the current services they are receiving from the Braille and Talking Book Library.

+ Assist callers with information related to the library services that are available throughout the state.

+ Assist the Reader Services Department Supervisor with any related projects within the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

+ Ability to communicate effectively.

+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.

+ A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
