This is a professional executive level position requiring
advanced engineering and management work to assist with direction
of water and wastewater treatment plant operation, water
distribution, wastewater collection, reuse water system and
stormwater system within the Utilities Department. Responsible for
supervising, establishing and monitoring; working with division
managers to cost effectively maximize the productivity of their
operations and maintenance programs. Work involves responsibility
for long and short term programs; planning with considerable
authority delegated to operations and division managers for
implementation of technical and administrative activities.
Management skills and sound judgement in decision making is
required. Work is performed under the general direction of the
Utilities Director. Responsible for supervising the activities
related to the City in accordance with policies determined by City
management and applicable regulatory practices.
Minimum Qualifications Education, Training and Experience -
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with
a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; eight (8) years professional,
technical or administrative experience in the operation and
knowledge of a municipal water utilities system. Must be a Licensed
Professional Engineering (PE) in the state of Florida or eligible
to obtain such licensure by reciprocity/comity; and four (4) years
experience managing and supervising capital improvement projects;
professional, technical and administrative staff, project
management, and water Utility Operations.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid
Florida driver's license.
Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not

•Direct division managers and support personnel to maximize
safety, productivity and cost efficiency of utilities’ operations
and maintenance programs
•Reviews and/or prepares documents for the procurement of
equipment, consulting services, contracting services, etc. This
includes preparation of City Commission Agenda Items documentation
with coordination with the City’s Purchasing and Legal
