Overview:
Halifax Health is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst for the Finance Department.

Summary:
This individual is responsible for extraction, transformation and loading of financial, clinical, planning, and other quantitative data necessary for the final presentation of managerial & administrative reports. Assist with the development and maintenance of the hospital's decision support.

Job Qualifications:
Must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Health Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science,Applied Mathematics or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of two (2)years experience in hospital or health care setting with exposure to data management systems.SQL experience is required. Experience in Meditech or related hospital EMR, Information Builders WebFocus, Allscripts EPSi Decision Support system and Truven Health Analytics (Care Discovery and ActionOI) are preferred.Minimum of two (2) years experience with SQL Server 2008+ in an enterprise environment.Fluency in SQL server technologies to include:SQL Integration ServicesSQL Data ToolsSQL Management StudioTSQLStored ProceduresSQL Agent job configuration and monitoringQuery tuning and index optimization.Ability to perform analytic data mining.Strong understanding relational database design considerations.Exposure to GUI tools or other front-end technology.Exposure to multiple Database Management Systems, (with exposure to SQL based DBMS's) Possess a high degree of analytical, problem solving, and investigative capabilities.Well organized and have the ability to select the best approach for a task.Exceptional verbal & written communication skills.Ability to meet deadlines.Proficient with personal computers and related software.Deal effectively with stressful situations, including high demands and expectations, public contact, tight deadlines, and challenging assignments.Strong attention to detail and quality.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and maintenance of the hospital's data warehouse and related systems.Develop and maintain the hospital data warehouse & data marts which provide current, appropriate and accurate information to be used in decision making.Conduct ongoing environmental assessments of systems to ensure the data is accurate, available and optimized for reporting.Assist with the development and maintenance of the hospital's decision support/cost accounting system (Allscripts EPSi).Assist with the development and maintenance of the hospital's financial & quality benchmarking system (Truven).Develop and maintain decision support repository that provides current, appropriate and accurate information to be used in service line planning and cost position analysis.Assist in the collection and organization of financial, clinical or other quantitative data required for managerial and administrative decision making.Maintain knowledge of data warehousing principles and techniques applicable to systems utilized by Halifax Health.Other tasks as assigned.
